MotoKicX serves up a song about or starring motorcycles every Thursday. This week: CCR with ‘Sweet Hiych-hiker’.
Ah, elevators. The ideal travel method for anyone who is too young for a car in the 1970s and 80s, or too lazy to obtain a driver’s license. Thumbs up, let you drive, that idea. Until some serial killers realize that they can do shopping very easily, er, and hitchhikers disappear from the streets. The motorcyclist in this song and accompanying clip also sees such a raised thumb along the road, to which the arm of a relatively desirable young lady is attached a little further on. Unfortunately, just at that moment he is speeding on the highway, and turning back is not an option. And then disaster strikes…
Was busted up along the highway
I’m the saddest ridin’ fool alive
Wond’ring if you’re goin’ in my way
Won’t you give a poor boy a ride?
His engine gives up the ghost, after which our duped motard stands aside and tries to score a lift home. To make matters worse, the elevator girl, seated on the back of another pretty wench’s motorbike, comes just as sprightly. Two pretty ladies on a Honda CB450 K4 in Valley Green Metallic, with that lovely golden trim. We got a hard, er, thumb for less. All in unison: Sweeeeeeeet hitch-a-hikerrrrr!
