The legacy of “Game of Thrones” is more alive than ever. After its controversial end, HBO did not want to waste the gigantic brand it had created and decided to launch new series like “House of the dragon” with the aim of expanding the universe created by George R. R. Martin.
What fans of the franchise did not expect is that Warner Bros. has already been planning the release of a movie by the same writer.
The news was announced by George RR Martin himself during an interview with Penguin Random House, in which he was promoting his upcoming book “The Rise of the Dragon: An Illustrated History of the Targaryen Dynasty.”
“I wrote in 1978 a short story about a dragon called ‘The Ice Dragon’. Warner Bros. Animation has purchased the rights and we will be expanding the story into a fully animated film. A theatrical release, let’s hope, ”were his words.
The book introduces us to Adara, a girl who lives in a small village. She’s an outcast, but she’s befriended by an ice dragon that everyone fears. When an enemy from the north arrives, she decides to go to the warm lands of the south with her best friend.
Several affirm that the story is set in the world of “Game of thrones” and “House of the dragon”. However, the data does not agree and George R. R. Martin has confirmed that there is no true connection beyond the appearance of dragons in the plot.
