In the National Commission for Regulatory Improvement (Conamer) is the request by the Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE) to give emergency treatment and the issuance of the opinion to regulate the maximum prices of liquefied petroleum gas (LP).
This is part of the emergency guideline for the welfare of the consumer of liquefied petroleum gas, published yesterday by the Ministry of Energy, in the Official Journal of the Federation (DOF) and with which it seeks to regulate prices in the face of increases that energy has had.
According to the document, The Commission will establish a methodology that sets maximum prices to the final consumer of LP gas, at a cost that provides for the development of the industry and guarantees the economic, social and political development of the country, for a period of six months.
With the agreement it is sought that the licensees of commercialization, distribution of LP gas by means other than pipelines; distribution plant: tank truck, and delivery vehicles, as well as the sale of LP gas to the public, in its modalities of dispensing warehouses, service stations with a specific purpose and multimodal service stations, with the exception of the service station for self-consumption. , conform to the new scheme.
In your justification, It was explained that LP gas is a product with a relevant consumption, mainly in the lower income sectors according to the 2018 National Household Income and Expenditure Survey, so the State must promote the conditions of access to fuel at prices that guarantee the preservation of democracy based on the economic and social development of its inhabitants.
The document adds that the impact of unjustified trade margins In the commercialization or distribution of LP gas, it has a severe negative effect on the welfare of the population, as it is used by 79 percent of Mexican households, approximately 100 million people in Mexico.
The CRE asked Conamer to authorize the emergency treatment for the proposal to control the maximum prices of LP gas.
