Unprecedented weekend: losses for Psg, Real, Bayern, Ajax and Benfica. In the Premier League she is even among the leaders, Chelsea takes advantage of it
Come to think of it, what has just ended is a weekend that must have made the fortunes of betting sites around the world. How many times can Bayern Munich lose at home, even against a top-level opponent like Eintracht Frankfurt? Few, it is like thinking that the Psg of the trio of wonders (which became a poker with Di Maria owner) lose on the Rennes field, perhaps even without scoring. Or that Ajax, a team that usually trims two to nine goals against their opponents, end up ko at home against Utrecht. All hypotheses that are difficult to implement. Or not?
What surprises!
–
Perhaps it had never happened that almost all of them lost, at least until yesterday. Over the weekend, in fact, the leaders of the major European leagues suffered sudden and, above all, unpredictable slowdowns. Said of Bayern, which at Allianz was made up by the guests, also surprised the external defeat of Real Madrid by Carlo Ancelotti. The blancos, after the incredible European slip against the Moldovans of the Sheriff, lost against Espanyol 2-1 despite the usual Benzema and goodbye to the solitary summit. Now in the lead with Madrid are Atletico and Real Sociedad.
The victory of Rennes also made noise, which against PSG amply deserved the three points. Parisians who stopped at the crossbar of Messi, still dry in Ligue 1. From then on, few ideas and even less pace. Championship reopened? Probably not, but it certainly surprised the stop of Pochettino’s team, which simultaneously fielded Messi, Neymar Jr., Mbappé and Di Maria on the field.
Serie A is an exception, where Spalletti’s Napoli confirmed their leadership by imposing themselves against Franchi against Fiorentina, a 2-1 comeback that keeps the Azzurri at the top.
Ajax and Benfica
–
Seven wins in the first seven outings, thirty goals scored (yes, thirty), and only one goal conceded. In the Netherlands Ajax commands, as often happens. However, after the 2-0 in the Champions League against Besiktas, the archers were forced to leave the first three points of the season. To make the bang at the Amsterdam Arena is Utrecht, who took advantage of the “no” day of the hosts to hoist themselves in third place, at -2 just by the guys of ten Hag. Which now you can see the PSV, probably the only real direct competitor, at a single distance.
Very similar speech for Benfica, perhaps still distracted by the 3-0 trimmed against Barcelona a few days ago. The Eagles of Lisbon, in fact, were surprised at Da Luz by Portimonense (0-1), thus hitting the first stop of the season. They thank Porto and Sporting Lisbon, who are approaching -1 in a championship that is more uncertain than ever.
