A cow produces about 140 kilos of methane per year with all her regurgitation. They mainly come out through her mouth, and to a small extent through the intestines. Eating grass provides the gases in the rumen that the cow would like to get rid of as quickly as possible, but which humans would rather not have in the open air. With the 1.57 million dairy cows that graze daily, the animals are an important source of the so-called greenhouse gases in the air. These gases cause the earth to warm up, the polar caps melt and the water in the sea rises.
