There are over 300 intensive care beds occupied by Covid patients in Austria, a figure that automatically triggers a series of restrictions in the country to limit the spread of infections and which, however, will only come into force in a week.
According to Austrian law, once exceeded the limit of 300 patients in intensive care (today there are 317, 25 more than yesterday) a seven-day countdown begins at the end of which the country must enter the second level of restrictions on a scale of five. In this level dining in restaurants and attending crowded events is only allowed for those with a green pass.
In Austria, 5,398 new cases have been recorded in the last 24 hours, equivalent to an incidence rate of 400 infections per 100 thousand people. If the picture worsens, the law provides for further restrictions, the toughest of which establishes a lockdown for the unvaccinated.
