In the last 72 hours, 48,969 infections, 36 deaths and 175 hospitalizations for covid have been recorded in Switzerland. This was reported by data from the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH) which, like every Monday, concern the previous three days. The cases are down compared to last Monday, when they were 68,619 (19,650 more), as well as 238 hospitalizations. The deaths instead were 20.
Over the last 72 hours, the results of 150,869 tests have been transmitted, with a positive rate of 32.5%, compared to 37.2% last week. The reproduction rate, which is about ten days behind the other data, stands at 0.82. The Omicron variant accounts for 99.2% of cases. In the last 28 days, the total number of infections is 839,866, or 9,643.26 per 100,000 inhabitants. Since the start of the pandemic, 2,586,698 infections and 12,573 deaths have been recorded.
In total, 68.63% of Swiss people have already received two doses of the vaccine. Among the population over 12, the share rises to 77.86%. In addition, 75.39% of people over 65 and 40.87% of the population received the so-called booster.
