Mortality for Covid-19 for the first time in decline in Italy, this week, after 3 months. This is what emerges from the 85th weekly Instant report of the High School of Economics and Management of Health Systems (Altems) of the Catholic University of Rome.
4 weeks after reaching the peak in the incidence of Covid cases, which recorded a record figure of 1,767.5 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants in the week between 12 and 18 January 2022, finally – the report reads – also the curve mortality begins to decline. The figure stood at 3.7 deaths per 100 thousand inhabitants in the period 2-8 February, while in the week between 9 and 15 February it drops to 3.0 deaths per 100 thousand inhabitants.
