Covid in Italy, today’s June 24 bulletin: 55,829 new cases and 51 deaths

the new cases of Covid in Italy (yesterday there were 56,166, here the bulletin). It thus rises to at least 18,128,044 the number of people who have contracted the SARS-CoV-2 virus (including recovered and died) since the outbreak began. THE deaths today I am 51 (yesterday 75), for a total of
168.018 vittime from February 2020.

People recovered or discharged they are altogether 17,281,848 And 30,753 those that have become negative in the last 24 hours (yesterday 29,798). The positive current – the subjects who have the virus – turn out to be in everything 678.178equal to +25.606 compared to yesterday (+27.559 the day before).

The swabs and the scenario

THE total swabs (molecular and antigenic) processed are 238.069, which is 9,973 less than yesterday when it was 248,042. The 23.45% positive rate; yesterday it was 22.6%.

The trend of the upward curve, as shown by the comparison with last Friday (June 17th) when they were recorded +35,427 cases with a rate of 19.1%: in fact today there are more new infections than that day with a higher percentage.

An increase it is also observed in the weekly parameters provided by the monitoring of the Higher Institute of Health: the incidence increases to 504 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants (it was 310 per 100 thousand in the previous report) and the Rt index calculated on the symptoms rises to 1, 07, the epidemic threshold (it was 0.83 last week).

The health system

The hospitalizations in every area are increasing. The beds occupied in ordinary Covid wards I am +141 (yesterday +117), for a total of 5,205 hospitalized. The beds occupied in intensive care I am +9 (yesterday 0) – this is the balance between people who entered and left in a day – for a total of 225 seriously ill, with 29 entrances to resuscitation (yesterday 31).
