From tomorrow, the Vaccinated Travel Lane will be active for connections with Singapore, an initiative that will allow vaccinated Italian travelers to enter the country without having to spend a period of quarantine, an important step towards a full return to normal in air travel. This is what emerged during the videoconference meeting held this morning between the Minister of Sustainable Infrastructures and Mobility, Enrico Giovannini, and the Minister of Transport and Minister in charge of commercial relations of Singapore, S. Iswaran. The Singapore Minister valued the initiative desired by his government while Minister Giovannini reiterated Italy’s appreciation for the adoption of this measure, long awaited by the national community residing in Singapore and by the numerous Italian entrepreneurs and investors.
The two ministers also discussed the potential for collaboration in the sustainable mobility sector, a subject that will be the subject of a dedicated study among the competent structures in order to identify possible initiatives to be developed also with the involvement of the private sector.
Iswaran praised the Italian presidency of the G20 and underlined Singapore’s willingness to collaborate also in the multilateral fora, such as the ICAO, to favor the full and safe resumption of international connections.
