The government prepares the super Green Pass: access to bars and gyms only for vaccinated and cured people, then the workplaces
Concern about the new Covid wave in Europe is common among executive members and regional presidents. We will work to strengthen the green pass before Christmas, to introduce more restrictive measures for the unvaccinated, we will proceed with third doses. Prime Minister Draghi, however, while evaluating what to do and not underestimating the problem in any way, does not believe that any acceleration is necessary at the moment. The line at Palazzo Chigi remains that of caution and prudence, for the simple reason that our country has a high percentage of vaccinated people and above all the data are not alarming as regards hospitalizations. Hence the double path: attention but no alarmism, until the risk of the orange color returns to our Regions, the strategy is to act gradually and coolly.
Covid, mandatory vaccination for everyone on the table
It is clear that the data will be taken into account, but the timing of decisions has not yet been fixed. The obligation of vaccines for health personnel and the issue of changes to the green pass should be on the table of the next CDM. The option of extending the reinforced Green Pass to employees – or even resorting to compulsory vaccination, as in Austria – is no longer a taboo. A transition phase would be envisaged, in order to allow time for those who are not vaccinated to adapt. The numbers, in fact, are important: between 1.2 and 1.5 million no-vax workers. Again, there are several possible solutions. The soft one, so to speak, excludes swabs from the modalities for obtaining the vaccine passport useful for working. Or, more simply, a strict immunization obligation for everyone. Option also supported by Confindustria.
