Introduced the 2G rule, or ‘geimpft or genesen’ (vaccinated or cured)
A little more than three weeks after the start of the lockdown of the unvaccinated, Germany is reaping the first fruits of this measure: the daily number of new Covid cases has in fact gone from almost 74,000 to 10,100 today. On 2 December last, one step away from goodbye, Angela Merkel’s government decided that only those vaccinated and cured of Covid can access restaurants, cinemas, cultural events, museums and non-essential shops.
The 2G rule was therefore introduced, or ‘geimpft or genesen’ (vaccinated or cured). According to the Robert Koch Institute, the weekly incidence today reached 220.7 per 100 thousand inhabitants, while yesterday it was 242.9 and last week it was 315.4. The total number of dead has reached 110,364.
