60% of Italians over 12 have completed the vaccination cycle. This was announced by the structure led by Commissioner Francesco Paolo Figliuolo. The objective was achieved according to the forecasts of the plan drawn up at the beginning of March by the Structure, it is emphasized. On Saturday 31 July – according to data updated this morning at 06.08 – the number of people who completed the vaccination, receiving both doses of the vaccines in use (Pfizer, Moderna and Astra Zeneca) or the single dose (Johnson Johnson), it exceeded 32.4 million, a figure equal to 60% of the audience to be vaccinated made up of citizens over the age of 12. The result represents an important step towards community immunity, which is expected by the end of September, with the completion of the vaccination cycle by 80% of the audience to be vaccinated.
Italy is stable above the European average for the number of administrations carried out in proportion to the population.
“Having vaccinated 60% of Italians over the age of twelve is an important milestone that confirms the validity of the plan implemented through the synergy between Regions / Autonomous Provinces, public and private bodies, Civil Protection, Defense and the world of voluntary associations” , said Figliuolo, adding: “The vaccination campaign is proceeding continuously, with an average of more than 500,000 administrations per day nationwide, and will be able to count on the availability of further doses of Pfizer vaccine, starting from the third week of August.
