The Minister of Health, Marcelo Queiroga, announced today (21) the arrival of 2.1 million doses of vaccines against covid-19. AstraZeneca’s immunizations were donated by the United States and delivered this morning at Viracopos Airport, in Campinas.
Through social networks, the minister thanked the US government for the partnership, the result of a bilateral agreement to combat the coronavirus.
“More than 2 million doses of covid-19 vaccine donated by the United States arrived this morning. Thank you for the partnership. Together, we are going to win this pandemic!”, published Queiroga.
In a statement, the US Embassy declared that the donation represents yet another example of the vitality of relations between the two countries.
“The US has been on Brazil’s side since the beginning of the pandemic. In addition to vaccines and other medicines, the US government has already contributed R$110 million in direct assistance, the US private sector with more than R$412 million. The US also donated 1,000 lung ventilators, protective equipment, offered technical cooperation and many other types of assistance to Brazil”, says the note.
