The department of Isère is appealing to find 500 paid volunteers to supplement the staff of nursing homes facing a very high rate of absenteeism due to the health crisis, reports Friday France Blue Isere.
Of the 5,600 full-time equivalents in the elderly sector, there are 906 employees who are currently absent. This represents 16% of absenteeism. This situation hinders the proper functioning of these nursing homes and other structures.
The president of the departmental council of Isère Jean-Pierre Barbier launched the device on Friday morning. He therefore calls on those interested to register on the department’s website. Applications are open to all. There is not necessarily a need to have special skills for all positions, except for the jobs of caregivers. The volunteers selected will be remunerated according to the salary scale in force.
