The Covid-19 is circulating in a mink farm in Eure-et-Loir, announces the Ministry of Agriculture in a press release, Sunday, November 22, which specifies that 1,000 animals were slaughtered, just like “products from these animals”.
This type of contamination of mink by SARS-CoV-2 has been observed mainly in Denmark, but also in other European countries such as the Netherlands and Sweden. In France, says the ministry, analyzes have been carried out since mid-November in four mink farms.
“At this stage, these analyzes made it possible to reveal that the virus was circulating in a farm in Eure-et-Loir”, specifies the ministry. “As soon as they learned of these results, the ministers concerned immediately ordered the slaughter of all 1,000 animals still present on the farm and the elimination of products from these animals”, adds the press release.
In France, there are four mink farms. One is therefore contaminated, a second “is unharmed”. Analyzes are still in progress in the last two farms. The results are expected in the week, specifies the Ministry of Agriculture
