Daily deaths by covid-19, according to the seven-day moving average, were, last weekend, below 200 for the first time since April 2020. According to the newsletter Monitora Covid, from the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Fiocruz), they were recorded averages of 195 deaths on Saturday and 197 on Sunday.
The last time the total number of deaths from the disease was below 200 in the country was on April 23 (198). Deaths recorded on Saturday and Sunday are the lowest since April 22 (167).
In the last 14 days, there was a 15.1% decline in the average number of deaths in the country. In one month, the drop reaches 46.6%. In relation to the apex of the pandemic, on April 12, when there were 3,124 deaths, the average dropped 93.7%.
The seven-day moving average is calculated by adding the day’s data to the previous six days and dividing the result by seven.
