Court freezes 43 bank accounts in case of former Deputy Defense Minister Timur Ivanov
A Moscow court has frozen 43 bank accounts in the case of former Deputy Minister of Defense of Russia Timur Ivanov, reports RIA Novosti with reference to court documents.
As the agency specifies, the court decision mentions 43 deposits in three Russian banks.
Lawyer Murad Musayev said that Ivanov has become accustomed to the conditions of detention in the pretrial detention center (SIZO). According to him, the former deputy head of the Ministry of Defense continues to consider himself innocent and does not make a deal with the investigation in order not to incriminate himself.
Earlier, Moscow’s Basmanny Court extended Ivanov’s arrest until December 23. His lawyers asked to change the measure of restraint and release him under house arrest or a ban on certain actions.
The former Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation is accused of accepting a bribe of 1.185 billion rubles. He was detained at his workplace and arrested in late April and charged under Article 290 (“Receiving a bribe on an especially large scale”) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
