The Republican mogul and his eldest children, Donald Jr and Ivanka Trump, they were to begin giving sworn testimony on Friday as part of the open investigation by New York Attorney General Letitia James.
But a spokesman for James said the hearings had been delayed due to the death on Thursday of Ivana Trump, the mother of Donald Jr and Ivanka.

“This is a temporary delay and the depositions will be rescheduled as soon as possible. There is no other information on dates or other data to provide at this time,” he clarified, while offering condolences to the Trump family.
Ivana Trump died at the age of 73 at her home in Manhattan, New York. Police are investigating whether she accidentally fell down the stairs and the city’s medical examiner must determine the cause of death.
James suspects that the Trump Organization fraudulently overestimated the value of his real estate holdings when applying for bank loans, while underreporting them to tax authorities to pay less taxes.
The former president (2017-2021) and his family have rejected the allegations of irregularities and allege that there are political motivations behind them.
