The well-known journalist/insider Jez Corden he had his say on the new Xboxwhich according to the Windows Central signature may in fact be one line of compatible devices based on guidelines provided by Microsoft, with a strong Windows imprint.
Obviously we cannot take the information as certain, but Corden has previously proven to have good internal connections with the Microsoft environment, so his statements can be taken into consideration, although they are still rumors.
Responding to various interventions from users who asked for clarification on the next Xbox console, also considering the rumors about the fact that the new Doom would be multiplatform which seem to cast further doubts on the future of the hardware division, Corden reported that the next console would not be a single device, but a sort of standard.
An Xbox family
“The next Xbox will have a strong Windows imprint and will be a reference device to be proposed to various manufacturers, similar to an ASUS ROG Ally, for example”, reported Corden, “Like the Surface Pro 11 represents a reference for PCs with AI”.
In essence, according to the journalist in question, the next Xbox would not be a single device with a specific design, but rather a project with reference specifications which will lead to the production of different devices by various manufacturers.
In this way, rather than a console it would be a family of compatible devices, probably equipped with a software platform very close to Windows, if not actually referring to the Microsoft operating system in question.
This could also have to do with other rumors that Microsoft is particularly interested in the ARM architecture, which could pave the way for a possible portable Xbox which, at this point, would fall into the family of Xbox devices.
Something of the sort has also been shown in the PC sector with the recent presentation of the Copilot+ PC, i.e. a line of laptops all based on the same characteristics but produced by different brands.
