She is very close to the Corigliano-Rossano house where she lives with her mother and older sister. But what really happened remains to be verified. Voluntary removal or kidnapping. And possibly: for what reason?

Traces of her had been lost on the evening of Tuesday and then, in the night between Thursday and Friday, the discovery in the Rossano countryside. Tried, debilitated and immediately rescued. She was bewildered.

So many doubts to dissolve. Starting with the place where she was. He had been the subject of searches the previous day, but to no avail: in fact, there was no trace of the girl. So she may have let her find her will of hers or it was someone who left her there a few hours later.

The other details: no wounds, but an arm tied to a fence about thirty meters from home. The hypothesis of kidnapping for extortion purposes does not seem particularly credible. In the event of a seizure, the reasons could be other. But on this it is utmost confidentiality.

Her parents have been separated for over two decades and she would suffer from a sense of abandonment. And it was her father who launched an appeal to her daughter, immediately after her disappearance: «I don’t know Pina what happened. If you have something consult me, call me. I’ll pick you up”.

The young woman helps her 58-year-old mother with agricultural work on the land surrounding their home. She is introverted, lonely and with very few contacts outside the cottage where she lives: this is how her neighbors describe her. In addition, for some time now she has received notes containing threats. She didn’t have a social profile or a smartphone. And now the investigators will have to figure out if the young woman was kidnapped and then released or if she could have been a staging. Listened to by the investigators, she would have provided only confused statements.

The alarm went off at 7pm on Tuesday. She had gone out in slippers, to reach the garden. She never came back. A few hours later, her mother alerted the police station in the country. To find it, law enforcement, firefighters, drones and molecular dogs. In the countryside and in the nearby stream. Day and night.

It was identified thanks to the artificial lighting used during the hunt and, as a precaution, accompanied to the nearby “Giannettasio” hospital for investigations. Her condition did not cause particular concern and she was discharged shortly after. The doctors would have ruled out the possibility that she was abused. Yet many questions remain. At the moment, all the tracks remain open and there would be no privileged track.

The investigation was coordinated by the Castrovillari prosecutor who explained: “She had been described by her family as a person with no relationship problems with the family and who had never shown signs of intolerance towards it.” The police also listened to the young woman’s mother. Information is sought that, possibly, may be linked to the real reasons for her disappearance. But it is unclear whether the woman provided any useful information. Initially, the investigators had thought of a voluntary gesture.

But further investigation and the girl’s testimony should, in a short time, provide an answer to what happened. “The investigations – the investigators say – continue to verify whether, during the expulsion period, the girl has suffered violence or coercion by third parties”.
