The Correios Packet service, from Correios, won the 8th BBM Logistics Project 2021 Award. The award, given by Mundo Logística magazine, values logistics projects and supply chain (logistics chain) that stand out for their innovation and the results that are obtained.
Correios Packet was launched in 2019 to speed up the delivery of imports in Brazil due to the technological integration between the postal service, customs authorities, international logistics operators and marketplaces. The objective is to improve the shopping experience in international e-commerce for Brazilians.
The service uses the digital exchange of information, so that the customs clearance process takes place faster and all data about the packages are transmitted directly to Organs inspection bodies, making the process less bureaucratic, from the shipment of the cargo in the country of origin until delivery to the Brazilian importer.
In this system, the costs of support to customs clearance are included in the freight price, without the need for payment of Postal Dispatch by the recipient in Brazil, which speeds up the delivery time. More than 39 million packages have already been sent by Correios Packet.
