Data for Friday 15 October. Over half a million swabs (there are also those for the green pass), the highest test figure ever, which drops the positivity rate to 0.5% (yesterday 0.8%). Brusaferro: Progressive and slow improvement. The decrease of infections in every age group
I am 2,732 new cases of coronavirus in Italy (yesterday there were 2,668, here the bulletin). It goes up like this at least 4,712,482 the number of people who have contracted the SARS-CoV-2 virus (including recovered and died) since the outbreak began. THE deaths today I’m 42 (yesterday there were 40), for a total of 131,503 victims from February 2020. People recovered or discharged they are altogether 4,502,457 And 3,533 those that came out of the Covid nightmare today (3,709 yesterday). The positive current – the subjects who have the virus – turn out to be in everything 78,522, equal to -846 compared to yesterday (-1,083 the day before).
The swabs and the scenario
THE total swabs (molecular and antigenic) were 506.043, or 181,429 more than yesterday when there were 324,614. While the rate of positivity collapses to 0.5
% (the approximation of 0.539%) precisely by effect of a large number of tests – over half a million – which represents the highest test data ever and also includes the swabs performed to obtain the green pass, consequently for this reason it is so high; yesterday it was 0.8%. Here is the map of the contagion in Italy.
More infections in 24 hours than yesterday, but few more. The trend of the curve keeps slowing down, as shown by the comparison with last Friday (8 October) – the same day of the week – when they were recorded. +3,028 cases with a positive rate of 1.1%: today there are fewer new infections than that day.
According to the latest ISS monitoring, the incidence of cases drops to 29 per 100 thousand inhabitants (last week it was 34 per 100 thousand), while the Rt index in decline stood at 0.85 from 0.83 in the week before, while remaining below the epidemic threshold. In Italy there is a progressive slow improvement and it also characterizes other European countries, even if in some the circulation of the strong virus – explains the president of the Higher Institute of Health, Silvio Brusaferro, commenting on the report – but Italy has a circulation of the virus among the most contained in Europe and we are in a phase of decreasing cases, in all age groups.
The health system
Hospital stays in each area decrease for the third consecutive day. The beds occupied in ordinary Covid wards I’m -34 (yesterday -73), for a total of 2,445 hospitalized. The beds occupied in intensive care (TI) are -2 (yesterday -8) – this is the balance between the people who left and those who entered ICU -, bringing the total of the most seriously ill patients to 357, with 20 admissions to resuscitation (yesterday 22).
The vaccinated
The vaccine doses administered are over 87 millions. Citizens who have received the second dose are over 43.6 millions (80.80% of the population over 12). 46 million people (85.26% of vaccinables) received a single dose, while over 487,000 had the additional dose. Here the map updated every evening and here the real-time data of the anti Covid-19 vaccines report on the government website.
