Healthcare vaccination protection of workers against severe coronary artery disease remained excellent six months after the second dose of vaccine. Protection against infection, on the other hand, weakened, according to a study by the National Institute for Health and Welfare (THL).
According to THL, the protective effect against coronary infection was reduced 3 to 6 months after the second dose. The protective efficacy of the vaccines against severe diseases remained excellent after two doses of vaccine for at least six months. There were no significant differences between the vaccine products.
The study included vaccines from Biontech Pfizer, Moderna and Astra Zeneca. The efficacy of the combination vaccine series was also studied. Healthcare professionals were the first in Finland to receive coronary vaccination, which is why THL has been able to study the group for a longer period of time than others.
The results of the study are preliminary and have not yet undergone peer review.
