Coronavirus The two self-infected people confirmed in Finland are from the same group of five

The other three in the party have been tested, and any infections caused by omicron will clear by next week at the latest.

In Finland the coronavirus infections caused by the omicron transformation are from the same group of five people, says a leading expert from the National Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) Carita Savolainen-Kopra To STT.

To date, two cases of own-initiative investigations have been confirmed in Finland. Three other people from the Swedish team have been tested, and possible coronary infections caused by omicron will be revealed later today or next week at the latest, Savolainen-Kopra says.

Finland’s second self-infection was diagnosed in Southwest Finland, the chief physician responsible for infectious diseases in the hospital district Esa Rintala told BTI earlier on Friday.

Health and the National Institute for Welfare (THL) reported on the first confirmed case of Finland in its own case yesterday. According to the Helsinki and Uusimaa Hospital District (Hus), the infected person is from Helsinki.

Both confirmed self-infected individuals have mild symptoms and have not required hospitalization. All exposed people have been reached, tested and quarantined.

The Hospital District of Southwest Finland said yesterday that two probable micro-cases from Sweden are suspected in its territory. According to Rintala, there is probably certainty about the second doubt today.

With people in the party has had contacts in his own residential areas since returning to Finland. THL has reported that local health authorities map those exposed and carry out control measures in the hospital districts of Southwest Finland, Helsinki and Uusimaa, and Northern Savonia. Savolainen-Kopra does not have information on the number of external contacts.

Rintala says that people who have also been diagnosed with corona infection have been exposed to self-infection and suspicion in Southwest Finland. These are a few individual infections.

According to Rintala, it is probable that these are also caused by the omicron, but it will take a few more days to confirm them. The now confirmed self-infected person has at least one exposed contact with coronary infection.

For five people the entourage traveled from Sweden to Finland by plane. THL is not aware of any exposure to third parties during the trip. Local health authorities will monitor the infection and assess the exposure.

“As usual, we have reported these internationally, and traces of infection have been made through it. It involves how they have sat there (on the flight) and there are certain criteria that are considered to be exposed during a flight. According to our information, the flight has not been estimated to be exposed, ”says Savolainen-Kopra.

Omicron suspects have also come from other sources in Finland, Savolainen-Kopra says. A certain type of SGTF-PCR corona test result is suspected and the virus type is confirmed by sequencing. In addition, those who have returned to Finland from southern African countries classified as high-risk countries are considered suspicious, although they do not have an SGTF-PCR result.

According to Savolainen-Kopra, individual suspicions of omicrone have come to light through border testing. None of these have been confirmed to be a coronary infection caused by omicron.
