Coronavirus The European Medicines Agency has recommended coronary vaccine for people aged 5 to 11 years

In Finland, the vaccination of children will be discussed next week.

EUROPEAN Finnish Medicines Agency (EMA) recommends Administration of Pfizer and Biontech Corona Vaccine to 5-11 Year Olds. The agency discussed the issue at its meeting on Thursday.

According to Eman, a lower dose than adults is enough to give the same protection to children. The recommended dose for people aged 5 to 11 years is 10 micrograms, while the dose for adults is 30 micrograms.

Children, like adults, would be given two injections in the arm between three weeks.

Next The European Commission will decide whether to grant a marketing authorization for the vaccine on the basis of the EMA recommendation.

Finland is preparing a decision to vaccinate children next week.

The National Vaccination Expert Group (Krar) is preparing a statement on the matter next Wednesday for the National Institute for Health and Welfare (THL), which in turn will make a presentation to the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health.
