Authorities of the Health Secretary of Oaxaca, maintain an operation and sanitary protocol in the convent of the nuns of the Poor Clare Capuchin Sisters, due to a reported coronavirus outbreak.
Initially in social networks, the congregation demanded the support of citizens and the Ministry of Health when reporting a contagion from several clerics, who upon learning of her condition determined to declare quarantine in the convent.
In addition, they confirmed that one of its members, the mother Sor Asunción died a week ago due to complications from coronavirus.
His convent is located in the northern part of Oaxaca, in the Reforma neighborhood, where, according to the official report, there are 16 cases of people who tested positive for the SARS-CoV 2 virus.
As an urgent measure, those responsible for the convent decided to close the doors of the place and it is kept under medical supervision by the health authorities.
The convent has restrictions, the nuns cannot leave it and people outside their order cannot enter, so the sisters have asked those who wish to support them to communicate directly with them, through a Facebook page, Poor Clare Sisters Capuchinas Oaxaca.
“For those people of good will who wish to support us, we ask that you send us a message directly here on the page and we will respond as soon as possible, this page and the house phones are the most reliable way to communicate with us” says the publication.
