Coronavirus cases today in Catamarca: how many deaths are there and how the pandemic is progressing to January 21

Catamarca registered 56 new cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours, no deaths, according to the official part released this Thursday night.

The contagion curve showed a significant decline regarding the 90 positives from the previous day.

Of those infected that were detected this Thursday, 45 are from the department Capital, three of Peace, three of Old Valley, two of Ambato, one of Belen, one of Santa Maria and the remaining of Paclín.

The positives were diagnosed as follows: 45 by PCR tests, 10 by antigen tests and one by epidemiological link.

Even with the escalation of infections, Catamarca continues as the third province in the country that accumulates fewer cases, after Misiones and Formosa: carries a total of 4,782.

In the last 24 hours, 285 coronavirus tests were performed and there were 76 recovered patients: 57 live in San Fernando del Valle de Catamarca, 17 in Valle Viejo and two in Fray Mamerto Esquiú. A total of 3,319 people have already overcome Covid-19.

Meanwhile, active cases (people with the disease) decreased to 1,440.

The total number of deaths since the start of the pandemic, in March, remained this Thursday at 23.

At Malbrán Hospital from the provincial capital, the reference center for treating the infected, there are ten Covid-19 patients admitted to intensive care, seven of them with mechanical ventilation.

Throughout the Catamarca health system the ICU bed occupancy reaches 41%, While the use of respirators is 23% of the total installed equipment.
