Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday urged AAP leaders and activists to distribute free masks among those who have not worn masks. He described it as the best way to serve patriotism and humanity. AAP national convenor Kejriwal also urged other political parties to ask their workers to do the same.
Kejriwal said in a tweet, dear AAP MLA, MP, councilor, activists. You go to public places and distribute free masks to those who have not worn masks. Today, it is the best patriotic and human service. I also urge all political parties to ask their workers to do the same. Let us join hands to prevent the spread of corona virus infection.
Explain that the number of prohibited areas in the national capital has also crossed 4,550 amid increasing cases of Corona virus infection. The maximum number of 743 prohibited areas in the city are in south-west Delhi while the lowest 148 are in the north-eastern district. According to official figures, out of the total 11 districts of Delhi, six districts have more than 400 prohibited areas. These districts are… South-West (743), South (705), West (587), South-East (543), Central Delhi (490) and North-Western (445).
Since October 28, new cases of Kovid-19 have been increasing in the national capital and for the first time more than 5,000 new cases of infection were reported in the city on this day. On November 11, more than 8,000 new cases were reported in the city for the first time. Till Wednesday, the infection cases in Delhi had crossed five lakh.
On that day 7,486 new cases were reported while 131 people died due to infection. So far 7,943 people have died due to Corona virus infection in the city. According to the city’s revenue department, as of 19 November, the number of prohibited areas in Delhi was 4,560. There are 264 prohibited areas in New Delhi district while there are 249 prohibited areas in Shahdara and 202 in North Delhi.
