Hessen is further easing the corona rules. Prime Minister Volker Bouffier (CDU) announced on Monday in Wiesbaden that events with up to 750 people in closed rooms and with up to 1500 people outdoors may in future take place without registration and approval.
Wiesbaden – Vaccinated and recovered people did not count in these numbers. Larger events, however, were subject to approval.
The head of government said the corona pandemic is not over yet. However, the incidence is increasing only slowly and at a low level. Therefore, further relief for the population in Hesse is responsible. According to Bouffier, the new Corona regulation will apply from this Thursday (July 22nd) and initially until August 19th.
Bouffier called on people in Hesse to get vaccinated and especially after their vacation to be tested. The numbers for Corona first and second vaccinations went up in the country, but are still too low. “The pandemic is not on vacation,” emphasized Vice Prime Minister Tarek Al-Wazir (Greens). Therefore, people should continue to behave prudently. Despite the relaxation, the hygiene and distance rules to protect against infection would continue to apply.
Vaccination is the only permanent way out of the corona pandemic, warned the Green politician. “All economic and social consequences of this pandemic will only really end when we have medically defeated the virus.” (Dpa / lhe)
