If the parliamentary social and health committee should decide the matter, strict interest rate restrictions could soon be history. The four members of the committee interviewed by HS would be prepared to relax the restrictions on food restaurants and to reassess, among other things, the recommendation to close sports facilities.

Chairman of the Committee Markus Lohi (Central) opened the debate as early as last week by proposing that food restaurants should be open from the beginning of February until the beginning of February, if it is seen as safe in the area.

Prime Minister on Tuesday Sanna Marin (sd) and several ministers are calling for restrictions to be relaxed.

To HS Salmon says it would be wise for the government to immediately review the regulation on restaurant restrictions.

According to current restrictions, restaurants must close their doors nationwide at 6 p.m., and drinks will end at 5 p.m. The next session of the government is on Thursday, when the regulation is also likely to be on display. The Board may also hold an extraordinary session.

“After all, these restrictions must not be made in our legal system on the sole ground that they are considered necessary, but must be necessary,” Lohi says.

“I don’t think there are any more necessary criteria for restaurant restrictions and sports facilities.”

Also Vice-Chair of the Committee on Social Affairs and Health Mia Laiho (kok) tends to believe that the current strict interest rate restrictions are not justified.

“As for restaurant restrictions, the spread of the virus is not tied to time. What is the real reason why the opening hours of food restaurants are being restricted as severely as is currently the case? Why does the time after which you can no longer go to eat begin at exactly six? ” Laiho asks.

A member of the Committee on Social Affairs and Health has also considered the same Arja Juvonen (ps), which requires clearer grounds for restrictions.

“To date, restrictions have been justified by the carrying capacity of intensive care. I would now like to ask whether this is a lasting basis in this situation, where the number of infections recorded has increased sixfold since the beginning of December and the number of people in intensive care has been roughly the same. ”

Juvonen says it is ready to lift restrictions on food restaurants. Also a member of the Committee on Social Affairs and Health Who is Linden (sd) is more cautious in his words.

“Things aren’t simple, and I’m not in this decision-making position, but it could be that some mitigation could be made, especially for food restaurants,” he says.

“The feeling is that it is too early to close food restaurants at six o’clock. However, the situation is not over in such a way that the restaurants could by no means be opened completely normally, so that they are open until late and the nightclubs are open. ”

Lindén believes that the situation requires a high level of expertise. Restrictions should not be relaxed too early to avoid backpacking.

Mia Laiho is of the opinion that we should now really stop to think about what is no longer proportionate and necessary in this situation.

“And not that restrictions are kept just for the sake of certainty, because both the financial and health consequences are huge,” he says.

“We should pay more attention to the whole, to assess how much harm and benefit we have from the restrictions.”

Entrepreneurs and workers in the tourism and restaurant industry have been in exceptional mental and financial distress for almost two years now.

“There is no room for stretching. Cash reserves have been eaten. Of course, it is also reflected in the employees, because the continuity of work is then threatened, ”says Laiho.

Laiho also considers the ban on physical activity to be problematic.

“I am concerned about the adverse effects of the restrictions on people’s general condition, mental health and also their ability to function.”

Juvonen reminds that there are a lot of rehabilitators who need a regular dose of exercise.

“Restricting sports activities for young people and the elderly is also very harmful,” says Juvonen.

Markus Lohi believes that areas should assess on a weekly basis whether it is necessary to keep sports facilities closed.

“It must be remembered that the better the physical condition of the people, the better it will be.”

Tuesday Eastern Finland repealed by the Regional State Administrative Agency (AVI) decisions to close facilities in the areas of the hospital districts of South Savo and North Karelia. The decision took effect immediately. In addition, in Kanta-Häme, the avi decided that gyms, swimming pools and indoor playgrounds, among other things, will be allowed to open their doors from Thursday.

In addition, the Metropolitan Corona Coordination Group recommended easing restrictions on low-risk facilities.

Most restrictions are decided by regional authorities. Restrictions on restaurants and borders are at the discretion of the government. For others, it may make recommendations to regional authorities.

Last there has been some discussion about removing corona from the list of communicable diseases of general concern. Aki Lindén should still be included in the listing.

“Like [infektiosairauksien ylilääkäri] Asko Järvinen here recently said, although the disease at the individual level is currently not dangerous to many, it is dangerous to our health care system. Yes, it will be tolerated this spring to be among the most common infectious diseases. ”

Others are cautious about taking a stand. However, Laiho and Juvonen are of the opinion that clearer national guidelines are needed on how to deal with coronary heart disease.

“Practices are currently shouting nationwide policies. We should make some sense of the way we work at the national level and not that this is such a herring salad, ”says Laiho.

“If Korona remains a universal infectious disease, people need to know what the patterns are. After all, it may not be the case that quarantine decisions are made somewhere in Finland, and it is possible to receive a daily allowance for the same disease that is not available elsewhere. ”
