During the upcoming Halloween period we celebrate the 15th anniversary of Coraline and the Magic Door. The stop motion animated horror film directed by Henry Selick (Nightmare Before Christmas), and inspired by Neil Gaiman’s novel, is returning to Italian cinemas after conquering box offices around the world in 2009.
Nominated in the “Best Animated Film” category at the 2010 Oscars, Coraline and the Magic Door will arrive at cinemas in Italy from October 31st to November 3rdin a completely remastered version capable of offering a new immersive experience to spectators in the theater.
Plus, for the first time, fans of Selick’s film will be able to go behind the scenes to watch the award-winning LAIKA team build new versions of the Coraline puppets from scratch. Team members will review the design of the iconic puppet, adapting it to new technologies developed by the studio for the four films released after 2009.
The film tells the story of the protagonist Coraline Joneswho while exploring the house discovers a locked door that appears to be bricked up, later revealing itself to be a passage that leads her into an alternate version of her life. This new dimension resembles his reality, but more beautiful and colorful. However, behind that beauty lies a dangerous deception, and Coraline will have to face it to save herself and her family.
