Betis won its third Copa del Rey this Saturday after beating Valencia 5-4 in shots from the penalty spot, after not going beyond the 1-1 draw in the match and extra time at the Sevillian stadium of La Cartuja.
Borja Iglesias opened the scoring for Betis with a header (11), but Hugo Duro equalized with a lob over the exit of goalkeeper Claudio Bravo (30) in a match that had to go to penalties.
In the round, the Valencian Yunus Musah sent his shot to the clouds, but Tello and Juan Miranda did not miss the last two Betis shots, giving the victory to their team.

Betis’ third title in the Copa del Rey
Betis raised the Copa del Rey again seventeen years after winning it for the last time in 2005 against Osasuna. The first was in 1977 against Athletic Club, also on penalties.
Playing just a few kilometers from their Benito Villamarín stadium, Betis started the match better, pushed by their fans. Mnauel Pellegrini’s men took possession of the ball and control of the game against a Valencia team that struggled to get into the match.
The dominance of Betis was soon reflected in a beautiful goal in a header from Borja Iglesias to a center from the right by Héctor Bellerín (11).
The Betis winger had a lot of arrival on his wing and could have generated a second goal, but his center walked in front of the Valencian goal without anyone finishing it off (20).
Valencia, after the goal, stretched little by little to get closer to the goal defended by the Chilean Claudio Bravo in counterattack actions.
The tie came when Ilaix Moriba put in a great deep ball for Hugo Duro’s run that saved the Betis goalkeeper with a lob to make it 1-1 (30).
The goal spurred Valencia into an exchange of blows between the two teams, with Betis going up to press high.
The Verdiblanco team was able to take the lead before the break, but Sergio Canales’ shot hit the post (43).
Valencia continued with its progression after the break, being more dominant with the ball against Betis, who took a step back. Claudio Bravo put a providential hand to a shot by José Luis Gayá (50), before Gabriel Paulista tried his luck from afar (58).
Valencia kept a close eye on Fekir, while Portugal’s Gonçalo Guedes carried the danger with his speed down the flanks.

The Valencia goalkeeper avoided defeat in the 90s
Betis, less comfortable than in the first half, did not lose face in the match, but in a great arrival, Juanmi lost one-on-one with the goalkeeper
from Valencia Giorgi Mamardashvili (65), who was a wall.
Juanmi would have the goal in his boots again in a new shot that crashed into the Georgian international’s right post (78).
The Verdiblanco team came alive again in the last few minutes, in which they practically locked Valencia up again, but were imprecise in the final meters.
Fekir was left alone again against the Valencian goalkeeper, who took the shot
of the French (83) to the despair of the Betis fans present at La Cartuja.
Mamardashvili was once again providential to take a shot from Borja Iglesias (90), to which Valencia responded with a low shot from Carlos Soler that Claudio Bravo kicked out (90+1) to take the game to extra time. Unable to undo the tie, the match would end in penalties, where it was decided in favor of the Andalusian team.
