I think everyone has already heard that, according to the decree of the Mayor of Moscow, from October 28, 2021, the entrance to the theaters of the capital will be carried out with tickets and QR codes. And from November 8, we are moving to a 70% room occupancy using QR codes.
Having studied the mayor’s decree, we hastened to inform the audience about the innovations through social networks and the theater’s website. If possible, tell about all the procedures that allow you to receive a QR code. And, like all our colleagues without exception, they faced a powerful wave of negativity, which defies logical explanation, but, possibly, resulting from the emotional fatigue of people from a prolonged pandemic.
There were also (by the way, there are a lot of them) such comments that frankly shocked me. The feeling that people have had brain segregation and that both halves will not come to a common denominator. First, it became obvious that many have learned the term “segregation”, although they did not bother to understand its meaning. Secondly, very often exclamations were heard: “Fascism!”, “Nazism!” “Tyranny!”. To be honest, when I read this, everything in my soul turned over from pain and powerlessness.
We, apparently, began to forget what fascism is. In part, this may be good, which means that life is not so bad as it sometimes seems to us, but on the other hand … I think our grandparents, all those who stopped fascism, would not pat on the head for this. I have a pretty clear idea of the following picture.
Autumn. Seasonal flu. Grandmother makes her grandson wear a cap with garlic and eat onions (it seems that grandmothers treated us with such folk methods?). Otherwise, it threatens not to be allowed to walk with other children. The grandson shouts: “You are a fascist! This is segregation. ” It seems that after what he heard, the grandfather, without saying a word, will take out his belt and give it to his grandson. And after that, without saying a word, he will take by the hand and lead him to the cemetery. “Here is Vasily,” the grandfather will say. – We studied in the same class. He died near Moscow. ” “And this is Andrey, the grandfather of your friend Dima. Burned out in a tank. ” “Here is Tatyana Petrovna. Was a teacher at the school where you are now studying. She hid Jewish children. She was shot. ” Grandfather will smoke. He will silently study his grandson, and then ask: “Look how many of them are here. They stopped fascism. Tell me, could your grandmother have done something that you call her a fascist? ” I would like to believe that the grandson will learn his lesson.
I may be wrong, but, as far as I know, more than 30 thousand people died during the pandemic in Moscow alone. On paper, these are just numbers, but if you go to the cemetery, you can see how many kilometers the chain of fresh graves stretches, in which our acquaintances, friends and relatives lie. Only in the Vakhtangov Theater did the virus take away People’s Artist of the USSR Vasily Lanovoy, Honored Artist of Russia Nina Nekhlopochenko, accountant Valentina Sorokina.
If the vaccine had been available exactly a year ago, as it is now, then it is likely that we could have saved them. Today the theater has 423 full-time employees. The number of vaccinated people and those who have been ill in the last six months is 93% (this data is available on mos.ru). A year ago, when there was a similar surge in the incidence of COVID-19, at least 20 people a day fell ill at the Vakhtangov Theater. Now only two are ill: one is asymptomatic in a mild form, the second, which did not have time to be vaccinated, is of moderate severity. Here is your answer about the effectiveness of the vaccine in dry numbers.
As soon as we got a vaccine, I studied its features, consulted with doctors I knew and got vaccinated. Colleagues were surprised to find that nothing happened to me, I did not turn into a green monster, and followed my example. I suspect it’s pointless to urge you to turn on your head, put all your fears aside and study the issue of vaccination using the example of those you trust. It makes no sense, if only because, as soon as the non-working days were announced, according to information in the media, the number of ticket sales for domestic flights in Russia increased, and an influx of people in tourist regions is expected. It seems that we do not understand or do not want to understand what is happening. And this is what I think …
Years will pass. One way or another, humanity will defeat the pandemic. A new generation will grow up, they will know about it only from textbooks. And, perhaps, some little boy will also be out of place to shout to his grandfather: “Fascist, fascist!” The grandfather will take him to the cemetery and say: “Here is your grandmother. She died of covid. Here is the father of your friend Sasha. He died of covid. Here … ”Grandfather will light a cigarette. Will be silent. And with sadness he will add: “Then we also shouted:“ fascism ”,“ segregation ”, but it was necessary to unite against the plague. Perhaps many would have survived. Perhaps I deserve that you call me that … “
Take care of yourself and your loved ones. There is nothing more precious and more beautiful than a person’s life. Even a stranger. Even sitting across one chair in the theater. I perfectly understand what a difficult situation in Moscow is, and I am grateful to the authorities that they decided not to completely close the theaters, but to create a COVID-free zone. That they allowed us to play performances, and spectators who had been ill and vaccinated in this difficult situation to spend evenings in their favorite theaters.
I hope many of you know that on November 13 the Vakhtangov Theater will be 100 years old. Artistic director Rimas Tuminas declared November 13 the Day of Silence. Anyone can come to the theater, wander around, sit in the hall and recall bright and tragic moments from our history with us. Entry will be free, but a QR code is required. And, I think, many are aware that for the 100th anniversary of Rimas Vladimirovich is preparing a grand premiere of War and Peace, where almost the entire troupe of the Vakhtangovites will be engaged.
