Since the release of the Nintendo Switch until today, there has been a common controversy, and that is related to the drift problem that the Joy-Con controls presented, given that certain pairs in a matter of a few days began to report problems, even on the first day that customers used the console. That has led to part of the community carrying out years-long class action lawsuits against the Japanese company, and fortunately that would have ended this week.
Two lawsuits: Díaz against Nintendo and also Carbajal, filed in 2019 and 2020 respectively, will officially end through a dismissal with prejudice by the plaintiff. It means that the families have agreed to close the case completely without the possibility of reopening it in the future, and for now it is not really known why they have let it end, it is possible that they have reached an agreement with the company.
NEW – 5 years of efforts to sue Nintendo over Joy-Con drift have all but ended with a whimper
Plaintiffs (parents/kids) and defendants (Nintendo) in the 2 main class action claims in the US, filed in 2019/20, agreed last week to call for their dismissal https://t.co/dTLhP7Wzci pic.twitter.com/DEJM76F9y9
