Tottenham coach Antonio Conte described allegations that he could move to Juventus as a “lack of respect”.
Conte’s name was linked to a move to Juventus after the old lady’s poor start in the local league this season.
Conte, whose contract with Tottenham expires next June, has a close relationship with Juventus after winning the title in the ranks of the old lady as a player and coach.
Conte’s shares rose after he led Tottenham to qualify for the Champions League last season, before making a perfect start in the domestic league this season, as his team has not lost any game so far.
But despite reports that Massimiliano Allegri could be sacked, after Juventus won only two of their first seven Serie A matches, Conte emphasized his continued commitment to Tottenham.
“I think this shows a lack of respect for the Juventus coach and a lack of respect for my work with Tottenham,” Conte said Thursday, two days before the Arsenal derby in north London.
“We have just started the season,” he added. I have spoken many times about this and have always said that I am happy and enjoying my time with Tottenham. Then we have the whole season to find the best solution for the club and me.”
“Of course, I’m enjoying my time working with Tottenham,” he said. I have a wonderful relationship with the owner. I don’t see a problem in the future.”
He concluded: “I do not want in the future to hear someone talk about this, because it shows a lack of respect for the other coach and me.”
