At Norail, a fixture in Cambrai (North), dozens of small hands are working to prepare the necessary material for DIY. They count and pack screws, nails and everything you need for home jobs. A booming activity, which earned Pauline Dejardin her first employment contract. “I have been there since the end of July and I have been renewed”, explains the employee on a fixed-term contract. A hiring may be the key, as the company returns to growth.
With 10,000 references, Norail supplies DIY stores with screws and hardware, after losing up to 50% of its turnover during the first confinement. It now ends the year up 10%. “Since the initial deconfinement, orders have soared, because home DIY is on the rise. We have had a lot of orders in hardware stores, via DIY stores”, explains David Blangis, CEO of Norail.
