The PSRM secretary, who opted for Pedro Saura three years ago, is “proud” of the role he played until his replacement
The secretary general of the PSRM, Diego Conesa, bet three years ago for the appointment of Pedro Saura as ‘number two’ of the Ministry of Transport, and in that sense he spoke before the then powerful José Luis Ábalos. After learning about the replacement of the Murcian politician, Conesa said yesterday that the Murcian socialists are “very proud of the work” of Pedro Saura at the head of the Secretary of State for Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda. «His role as an interlocutor between the Ministry and the demands of the Region has been key to consolidate strategic projects, such as the burial of Murcia, Cartagena and Lorca, the development of the Mediterranean Corridor, the improvement of the neighborhoods, and the development of highways and roads, ”he said.
He added that with Saura “we have achieved historical claims.” He wished the new secretary of state “good luck”. “We are sure that he will keep the Ministry’s commitments. As he has shown during his career at Adif, he knows the Region and has worked in the underground of Murcia. He has always answered the doubts we have had and attended to our demands ».
PP: «It is an obstacle»
The regional spokesperson for the PP, Miriam Guardiola, said that the departure of Pedro Saura “shows that the Region of Murcia does not count for Sánchez or for the PSOE.” He added that the President of the Government “considers the Region lost, by not including a minister or a secretary of state in its Executive, which shows that the Community will continue with the permanent punishment of the socialist government by leaving us in the queue of the country, both in infrastructure and in distribution of funds.
Likewise, he regretted that Saura “remains for history” as “the Secretary of State who has contributed the least to the region’s infrastructures”, which reflects that “a Murcian socialist in Madrid neither contributes nor adds, but is an obstacle to the growth of the Region ». This change, according to Guardiola, “makes it clear that the PSOE is ignoring Diego Conesa, who is increasingly less weight for his gaffes and is less listened to by Sánchez.”

“Saura has fulfilled our demand that the AVE arrive buried”
The Pro Underground Platform valued “positively” Saura’s management at the Secretary of State for Transport, since, in his opinion, “he has complied with the Platform’s claim that the AVE had to arrive underground.” “We are also happy about the launch of the first underground section of Murcia,” added Antonio Hernández on behalf of the neighborhood community.
He considered that the new Secretary of State, Isabel Pardo, “transmits confidence.” “Every time we have had contact with her, from her position in Adif, she has shown that she is serious and that she understands the matter. That does not mean that we are going to continue fighting for the rest of the burial, asking for agility with the works until Nonduermas, “he concluded.
