Mexico.- The National Commission for the Protection and Defense of Users of Financial Services (Condusef) released a series of recommendations to avoid major financial fraud that are committed in Mexico.
In this sense, the federal body warned that, in recent times, there has been a increase in the use of financial services through digital platformswhich has facilitated the banking procedures of many users although, at the same time, this situation has lent itself to the development of new ways to commit cyber fraud.
In this context, the National Commission for the Protection and Defense of Financial Services Users provides the following advice for people who use these means.
- Do not give personal information or your cards. Also avoid registering on unofficial or unknown web portals.
- If you receive a call from a bank, first check the veracity of it and identify the information that you can give.
- Do not open suspicious web pages or emails, and do not reply to messages that say you won a prize or give you an offer that is extremely attractive
- Check that all the communications you receive are from the official accounts of the corresponding financial institutions.
- Finally, always keep in mind that banks and companies will never ask you to give your financial data or credit card numbers by phone call or internet media, as long as you are not the one who initiated the contact, so It is best to go to the physical branch.
Likewise, the Condusef points out that, prior to making use of any digital financial platform, it is important that consult and read the policies of the banks and be aware of the security methods that apply to them.
