Davide Rossi, son of rocker Vasco, was sentenced in Rome to one year and 10 months for serious personal injuries and wrongful death: “I am outraged, justice is dead”
Davide Rossi, son of the singer Vasco, was sentenced by the Court of Rome to one year and 10 months on charges of serious road injury and failure to rescue. The sentence stems from an accident that took place on September 16, 2016 in the Balduina district. Together with Davide, whose driving license was revoked, the other defendant, Simone Spadaro, was also sentenced to 9 months, who declared the false by saying that he was driving at the time of the collision. The prosecutor last May asked for a sentence of 2 years and 8 months for Vasco Rossi’s son.
According to what was reconstructed in the indictment, Davide Rossi, aboard his Audi, proceeding at high speed would not have stopped at the stop sign, then collided with a car in which two women were traveling who reported injuries deemed curable in over 40 days. “Immediately after the collision”, according to the prosecution, the 31-year-old left the scene without “complying with the obligation to assist people”. “We stopped, got out of the car and asked the girls in the other car if everything was okay and they replied ‘yes, yes'” Rossi defended himself in the courtroom in the July hearing a year ago. to the judge. “I told my friend to do the cid and I left with the girl who was in the car with us because she was very shaken by the accident, knowing they were doing the cid, I was calm”. “I don’t sail in gold and I don’t have a stable job – added Rossi – the newspapers have written terrifying things about me but I take the strengths and weaknesses of being Vasco’s son”.
“I am indignant, justice is dead. – commented the sentence Rossi – There was also a signed CID to testify everything, they took the insurance money, it’s really absurd, I can’t explain it. Unfortunately I think this happened also because my father is a person in sight. We will appeal and hope that justice will triumph in the end “. “We have all the cards to prove our extraneousness, we will appeal”, says the lawyer Fabrizio Consiglio, defender of Spadaro.
Words of bitterness also on the part of Father Vasco Rossi: “I am embittered by the sentence which seems to me deeply unjust because only the accusations have been accepted”, said Vasco. “I am convinced that Davide has spoken the truth and I have faith in the judiciary which, I hope, will restore ‘the Truth’ on appeal”, he concluded.
