The Social Shock Plan and Marches for Dignity of the Region yesterday called a rally “against the abuses of banks and electricity companies” in the streets of the city of Murcia. Attendees expressed their outrage at what they describe as “exorbitant, disproportionate and unfair rise in the electricity rate, as well as the immoral bank fees.”
The mobilization, which began at around 8:30 p.m. on Avenida de Los Pinos and ended at the Bank of Spain, on Gran Vía, was intended to show the unrest among citizens. The convening associations denounced, especially, the “abuses of the bank, which we rescued in the previous crisis with more than 65,000 million euros that they have not returned”, but also of “the companies of the energy sector, fundamentally of the electric, but also gas and gasoline ». From the Social Shock Plan and Marches of Dignity they highlighted that the electricity bill “is 270% more expensive than a year ago” and “the commissions of immoral banks”, while their profits “grow like foam ».
