Mexico faces an extreme weather forecast for today, with forecasts of heavy rain, high temperatures and strong winds throughout the country.
The combination of a stationary frontal system in the northeast and a dry line in northern Coahuila is generating showers with electric shocks in Nuevo León, Tamaulipas and San Luis Potosíaccompanied by wind gusts of up to 70 km/h.
In addition, the front is expected to move north of the Gulf of Mexico and stop affecting the country starting early Sunday morning.
Simultaneously, a low pressure channel in the center and southeast of the territory, in combination with atmospheric instability, is causing heavy rains in central and eastern states, with Possible hailstorms and increased levels of rivers and streams.
In the south, especially in Oaxaca and Chiapayes, they anticipate heavy rains that could cause landslides and floods.
The situation is aggravated by an area of instability near de Guerrero and Oaxacawhich intensifies rainfall in the south and southeast of the country.

– Very heavy to intense rains in Oaxaca and Chiapas, with accumulations of 75 to 150 mm.

– Showers in northeastern and central states such as Nuevo León and San Luis Potosí.
– Isolated rains in Michoacán and Yucatán.

Temperatures above 45 °C are expected in regions such as Michoacán, Guerrero, Veracruz, Tabasco, Campeche and Yucatán, and between 40 to 45 °C in other northern and southern states.
The wide distribution of high temperatures covers practically the entire country, including the capital, where maximum temperatures of up to 32 °C are expected.
Heavy rain could result in waterlogging, flooding and landslides, especially in mountainous areas.
Gusty winds could down trees and damage infrastructure, while high temperatures pose a significant risk to public health.
The population is recommended to stay informed through official channels and take precautions, especially in areas prone to accumulation of water and landslides.
Regional forecast
In the Valley of Mexico, heavy rains are expected with the possibility of hail and winds that could reach 60 km/h.
The Yucatan Peninsula will experience heavy rains in Campeche, while drier conditions with strong winds and dust devils are expected in the Baja California Peninsula.
