A recent survey shows: The approval of a general vaccination requirement is higher than ever. Left boss Bartsch is still reluctant.
Update from December 3, 2:45 p.m .: The managing health minister Jens Spahn (CDU) confirmed on Friday his “fundamentally very skeptical attitude towards a general vaccination requirement”. He gave his word on this question. “That will also determine my voting behavior,” he said. It is planned that the Bundestag will vote on the introduction of a general compulsory corona vaccination, whereby the faction obligation for members of parliament is to be lifted.
Update from December 3rd, 12 noon: In the debate about a general corona vaccination obligation, left-wing parliamentary group leader Dietmar Bartsch spoke cautiously. Not all possibilities have yet been exhausted, said Bartsch on Friday in the RTL / ntv program “Frühstart”. “I would now be in favor of enforcing vaccination law first, so that you can really get vaccinated. Because some want appointments and get some in January and February ”.
Discussing compulsory vaccination in the Bundestag is “sensible”. A vote without group pressure is currently being considered. The ethics council should also make a recommendation. When asked whether he would vote for compulsory vaccination himself, Bartsch said that he would take a close look at what the applications were. He is “not a friend of the compulsory vaccination”, but: “If you do that to such an extent that the pressure is increased, then I can also imagine agreeing to a corresponding application.” The Left Party’s executive committee has spoken out in favor of compulsory vaccination.
First report from December 3rd, 11.30 a.m .:
Berlin – A majority of the population is now in favor of a general compulsory vaccination. This is shown by the current ARD Germany trend. In view of the number of infections, 60 percent of those surveyed think that the corona measures do not go far enough. The WDR announced on Thursday. It is the highest percentage since the outbreak of the pandemic in Germany. That means: A large part of the Germans are voting for a tougher Corona course in the fourth wave. 20 percent – i.e. only one in five – of the respondents consider the currently applicable rules to be appropriate. For 17 percent they go too far.
71 percent were in favor of the introduction of a general corona vaccination for adults – 14 percentage points more than in November. A general compulsory vaccination is therefore popular in the ranks of all party supporters, with the exception of the AfD.

79 percent of those taking part in the survey rated the current corona crisis management by the federal and state governments as critical, only around one in six (18 percent) said they were satisfied. According to the survey, the critics of crisis management do not see the responsibility for the current problems in containing the pandemic primarily with the federal states, but with the federal government.
Concerns about contracting the coronavirus increased compared to the previous survey in November and currently affects one in three people at 33 percent. Germans are still more worried than their own infection, however, about possible infections in previously unvaccinated children – 57 percent said they were. 73 percent of those surveyed are also worried about severe disease progression in older people.
