The Spanish Agency for Medicines and Health Products (AEMPS) has reported the recall of certain models and article numbers of compression stockings and bandages manufactured by Bauerfeind AGwhich he learned about through the German company itself.
The AEMPS has indicated, according to the information provided by the company, that there is a possibility that metal shavings in some of these products that could damage the skin of the user during use.
Compression stockings are designed to treat venous disorders such as varicose veins, while bandages relieve pain and immobilize joints.
Specifically, the models of venous compression stockings affected are ‘VenoTrain curaflow Arm’, ‘VenoTrain curaflow Bein’, ‘VenoTrain discrétion’, ‘VenoTrain impuls’, ‘VenoTrain micro’, ‘VenoTrain pure’, ‘VenoTrain soft’ and ‘ VenoTrain soft S’. As for stabilizing bandages, ‘GenuTrain’, for the knee; ‘LumboTrain’, for the lumbar area; and ‘OmoTrain’ and ‘OmoTrain S’, for the shoulder, are the recalled products.
The company is sending a note of notice to pharmacies and orthopedics to whom the compression stockings and bandages have been supplied to inform them of the problem identified and of their withdrawal from the market.
