Forestry company UPM starts change negotiations in its Fibers business area in Finland. Negotiations are taking place on the possible reduction of approximately 110 jobs.
A total of approximately 1,600 employees are included in the change negotiations. They work in the pulp business in Lappeenranta, Pietarsaari and Kuusankoski and in the sawmill business in Lappeenranta, Pietarsaari, Pori, Tampere and Juupajoki.
Work tasks in addition to downsizing, layoffs are possible in some units.
The reasons for the change negotiations are to make operations more efficient and to secure profitability.
