German chemical and pharmaceutical company Bayer has won the first lawsuit over whether its herbicide Roundup causes cancer.
Bayer said on its website on Tuesday that a California court issued a ruling that the pesticide was not a major cause of the child’s rare lymph node cancer.
According to the news agency Reuters, this is the fourth Roundup verdict and the first positive for Bayer.
Bayer’s share rose 2.5 percent in pre-trading on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
Bayer acquired the Roundup brand in 2018 when it acquired American Monsanto for $ 63 billion.
