Petersburg artist, author of comics Vitaly Terletsky accused “Magnet” of plagiarism. The man said in his Twitter– an account that a character copied from his work appeared in the advertising of a chain of stores.
In support of his words, the artist posted two images on the social network: the first is a drawing of a character from the Comics 24, co-authored by Terletsky and his colleague Artem Bizyaev, and the second is a screenshot of Magnit’s Instagram ads. Both pictures show robots, the similarities of which are easy to distinguish.
Hey, @magnitretailif you wanted to stir up a collaboration with our @ArtemBizyaev comic book, we are always open to cooperation, which is a shame, not only because you stole a character for commercial use, but also because you did it disgustingly mediocre. pic.twitter.com/ofdd1bC1iX

The author of the original piece called the retailer’s ad a “shame” and wrote that Magnit “stole a character for commercial use,” adding that it was “disgustingly mediocre.”
Representatives of “Magnit” reacted to the claims of Terletsky in the comments to the publication, stating that “they did not want to plagiarize anything,” and when creating the picture they used a completely different concept. The response from the Russian chain of stores also indicated that Magnit is ready to remove an image from social networks if it offends the feelings of the creators of Products 24.
