Discovered in January 2021, Comet Leonard will be visible to the naked eye in December. The celestial body has an orbit period of 80,000 years, says the American Space Agency (NASA).
Also known as the “Christmas Comet”, the Leonard should be visible in the sky, in case of good weather, between the morning of December 12 and 14, according to NASA.

“Although comets are notoriously difficult to predict, comet Leonard will become visible to the naked eye in December, according to some estimates,” the Agency said.
Experts believe that most countries in America will be able to spot the comet, which at its closest point to Earth will be around 35 million kilometers away. In Brazil, the expectation is that observers will be able to locate the comet on the western horizon.
