The rains yesterday afternoon again flooded the Villas de la Laguna Housing Unit, Villas de Zumpango Cadu and Rinconadas de la Laguna, in the municipality of Zumpango.
The State Civil Protection Coordination reported that performs an assessment of the effects on the lower parts of said subdivisions, where it has been appreciated that the water reached from 15 to 50 centimeters.
The Zumpango Drinking Water Agency stated that The problem in the Villas de Zumpango Cadu and Rinconada de la Laguna colonies is that their drainage not connected to manifold and that for a few weeks they have already been working on making the connection.
In a statement released on social networks, the City Council explained that “the level of rivers and channels has increased considerably due to the opening of the La Estrella dam in the state of Hidalgo, so they will be continuously monitored in conjunction with Civil Protection to avoid a major incident ”.
By instructions of the governor, Alfredo Del Mazo, The General Coordination of Civil Protection is in the area coordinating actions to serve the affected population.
On the site work personnel from the state, municipal Civil Protection and Firefighters of the Zumpango City Council, as well as machinery from the Water Commission of the State of Mexico (CAEM), the National Water Commission (Conagua) and the Decentralized Public Agency for the provision of the Potable Water, Sewerage and Sanitation services of the municipality (ODAPAZ), who, with pumping equipment, work to lower water levels in the area.
