“We are facing a femicide” were the words of the lawyer Juan Carlos Navarro, who will represent six of the victims of Jorge Ignacio Palma, a Colombian who is accused in Spain of the murder of three women and more than ten alleged crimes of sexual abuse.
From this Monday, June 13, a trial will begin in Valencia, where a popular jury made up of seven women and two men will determine the presumed guilt of Palma in three murders. That of Marta Calvo, Arliene Ramos and Lady Marcela Vargas.
In addition, the Colombian is also accused of attempted murder on seven other occasions. According to the newspaper ‘El País’, the Prosecutor’s Office asks for sentences that could add up to 130 years in prison or life imprisonment.
Due to the results that the investigations of the Spanish police have launched, the man used the same ‘modus operandi’ with all the women he murdered or tried to do so.

First, he organized some “sexual dates”, as described by ‘El Mundo’, with the women, and later, without their consent and in a forced manner, inserted high-purity cocaine capsules into their vaginas.
Three women died from this and those who survived have medical sequelae such as nausea, dizziness, tachycardia or even loss of consciousness.
According to the aforementioned media, Palma initially admitted this murder to the Spanish Civil Guard, but later did not comment on the matter again.

The meeting between Calvo and Palma occurred in November 2019 and, according to what the feminicide testified, he dismembered her and then disposed of the bodywhich has not yet been found by the authorities despite several searches.
Marisol Burón, Calvo’s mother, has mentioned to the media her request for justice for her daughter and the other victims of Palma: “I have endured two and a half years and I am going to endure until the end. I ask my daughter for a lot of strength and she is giving it to me to be in court every day and be the voice of all of them,” Burón told ‘El Mundo’.
All survivors of the offender are expected to testify at trial. and give clarity on how they agreed to meet with the man.
Meanwhile, Navarro, the victims’ lawyer, is accusing Palma of “two murders, six attempted murders, sexual abuse and crimes against public health.”
